Ikon Gallery approached Plane Structure to make tables and chairs for its Slow Boat – a narrow boat that is used for contemporary art workshops and exhibitions.

Furniture for a narrow boat needs to fulfil a few basic needs: small enough to fit on the boat, lightweight enough to move around, sturdy to cope with regular use and beautiful to the eye.

The tables and stools we created were inspired by traditional canal designs.
